OLGA VICTORIA WASSON

OLGA VICTORIA WASSON

June 21, 1928 - November 7, 2021

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, aunt and cousin, Olga Victoria Wasson, who passed away peacefully in Palm Desert, CA, on November 7, 2021, at the age of 93.

Olga was born on June 21, 1928 to Nicholas and Marie Sowsun. She grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada along with her sister, Anastasia Craig and brother Pat Sowsun who both preceded her in death. Olga was proud of her Ukrainian heritage and orthodox faith. She was a long-time member of St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Los Angeles, CA, and served as Chairperson for many years.

Olga is preceded in death by her husband William Wasson (Wasylishen) who passed in 1995. Bill and Olga Wasson made their home and raised their family in Reseda, CA. They are survived by their two loving sons, Mark and wife Susan of Palm Desert, CA, and David and wife Wendi of Kona, HI.

Olga Wasson had multiple relatives and friends in Canada, the United States and Ukraine. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbours and always looked forward to their visits. Olga loved tending to her flower and vegetable garden. She was an excellent cook and affectionately doted on everyone who entered her home to authentic Ukrainian cooking and cultural traditions.

A service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, CA.

In lieu of flowers and charitable donations, to honour Olga's memory her final wish is for us to love with intensity, laugh often, live respectfully, and perform acts of kindness at every opportunity.
