ANNA OSADCHUK (TUMAK) It is with great sadness and family by her side, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother, Baba and Great-Baba, on March 12, 2013 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 86 years. Anna was born January 23, 1927 on a farm in Willowbrook, Sask. to parents Michael and Julia Holowenko (nee Pacholko). Anna was one of 13 children and seventh child born. Anna married William Tumak in 1942 and raised a family of four boys and four girls, farming in Hudson Bay, Sask. until 1961 when William moved the family to Winnipeg. Anna and William divorced in 1966, and Anna married Michael Osadchuk in 1978. Anna has been a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress Sobor and UWAC Ladies Auxiliary since 1964 to present, receiving her 25 year pin with the Auxiliary which she was very proud of. Anna has also received her 25 year pin from Legion Branch 141 Ladies Auxiliary for volunteer work in the community. She was Secretary Treasurer of the Sobor Ukrainian School and the Ukrainian Dancing School for many years. From 1991 to 2009 Anna was financial Secretary Treasurer of the UWAC Ladies Auxiliary and an active member of the church's perogy production fundraiser team. She was an avid 5-pin bowler, loved to dance, socialize and play cards. Her most enjoyed hobbies were sewing and Ukrainian cross-stitch embroidery. All Anna's children have Ukrainian blouses and shirts sewn and embroidered by her with love. Her sewing machine was always open and ready to go. She made numerous patch quilts for the whole family. When she ran out of family to sew for, she made quilts for special friends and charity organizations. Anna will be sadly missed by her children: Joseph Tumak, Benjamin (Delia) Tumak, Lillian Cameron, Victoria (David) Mowat, Patricia (Ronald) Duncan, Carl Tumak, Katherine Day. She was also blessed with 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Family was the centre of Anna's life and she had a deep ever lasting love for each one of them. She was predeceased by her parents Michael in 1967 and Julia in 2007, her son Myron in 1972, her six brothers and six sisters, daughter-in-law Joyce in 1986, and son-in-law John in 2006. Prayers will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Avenue, Winnipeg. followed by interment in the Brookside Cemetery, with Rev. Fr. Alexander Harkavyj officiating.
